Our region, Aix-les-Bains Riviera des Alpes, is rich and offers a wide range of activities. It is impossible to be bored, unthinkable not to have an excellent stay here. Between lake and mountains, there is something to suit every desire.

The quality of life offered by our town and our natural surroundings has long been known and recognised, in France and around the world. The Gauls had already settled on the shores of the lake in their time. The first thermal baths date back to Antiquity, built by the Romans. The late 19th and early 20th centuries marked the consecration of Aix-les-Bains, with visits from monarchs and celebrities from all over the world, who came to enjoy its thermal baths as well as its solarium, the gentle lake and the fresh air of the surrounding mountains.
In this area that is at once dedicated to well-being, culture and sport, your stay will allow you to enjoy the experiences you dream of.

Here, the town, the mountains, the natural parks, the countryside, the lakes… all come together. Mountain lakes of course, but also the magnificent Lac du Bourget, the largest natural lake in France! The historical and religious heritage is also significant in our region, which was the Duchy of Savoy until 1860. The promise of a multitude of experiences to enjoy.

Water is an ever-present natural element.

Look no further! During your stay, the Grand Hôtel du Parc offers you access to its SPA MELINA. You will feel as though these discreet spaces are reserved just for you. A warm pool with massage jets… an almost private jacuzzi… a cocoon-like sauna… here, absolute calm and gentleness reign, so you can recharge your batteries. One credo: take your time and think of yourself… enjoy!

A spa destination par excellence, taking a thermal cure in Aix-les-Bains in Savoie means combining the guarantee of quality treatments with a stimulating and enriching stay. Traditional cures, provided in town at the Thermes Chevalley, easily accessible from the hotel, are renowned for effectively delaying and reducing rheumatism. Close to the hotel, the Thermes de Marlioz specialise in treating ENT conditions for the whole family. These cures run over three weeks.
Same water, but different objectives, different rhythms, different pleasures… the Chevalley thermal spa offers a wide choice of short well-being cures: treatments, day packages, or a few days. Aqua-relaxation, aqua-gym, mini health cures on many themes including relaxation, vitality or D-stress… In short, programmes designed to help you feel good.

Our great and majestic lake, so present in the life of the poet Lamartine, is a source of inspiration for everyone.
Whether you are looking for sporting activities or relaxation, with family or among adults, you will be delighted on Lac du Bourget, the largest natural lake in France. Still very wild, only part of its shores is accessible by road. Many beaches allow you to cool off and swim, discovering the lake from different perspectives. You can explore the wild areas as you wish: on a paddleboard in peace and quiet, on a more playful pedalo, or on a private boat, with a guide or independently.
For families, the Aix beach sets up a fun floating course on the water every summer.
For sports enthusiasts of all ages, water activities reign supreme: water skiing, kitesurfing, wakeboarding, sailing, rowing, canoeing, as well as scuba diving and fishing!
In the neighbouring Bauges Regional Natural Park, located between Aix-les-Bains and Annecy, here is white water that swirls and invites you to discover waterfalls on walks, and also lets you experience thrills with canyoning outings.
From time to time, venture a little further than Lac du Bourget. To the north, you will quickly find yourself strolling along the Rhône. Or, in 30 minutes, enjoy another nearby lake: Lake Annecy. Annecy’s old town, nicknamed the Venice of the Alps, with its castle, is a wonderful visit not to be missed, as is the city of Chambéry, with its remarkable museums and historic monuments.

Do you like taking the time to discover and use your travels to learn new things? Set off to explore the town and the region’s many religious sites. First and foremost, head to Hautecombe Abbey, on the north-western shore of Lac du Bourget. On an exceptional site originally chosen by Cistercian monks in the 12th century on the lakeside, the abbey houses the tombs of the thousand-year-old dynasty of the House of Savoy. Religious heritage can be discovered along the Baroque Trails, routes that reveal the architecture of Savoyard villages and the treasures of Baroque churches. In Aix-les-Bains, the Notre-Dame church hosts classical music concerts. Right next door, the Faure Museum exhibits, among other things, a fine collection of original works by Rodin and a floor dedicated to Lamartine. Themed guided tours of the town are offered to discover the former Palaces, the thermal baths, the casino and its fantastic mosaics and stained glass windows, the Gallo-Roman remains at the town hall…

Is your getaway an opportunity to get some fresh air? Do not deprive yourself. Here, fill up on energy! Everything is authenticity and nature, even in the town centre with the magnificent Parc de Verdure, just a stone’s throw from the Grand Hôtel du Parc. Beautiful walks along the lake, on rollerblades, by bike or on foot via the lakeside Esplanade, the Petit and Grand Port, and the Jardin Vagabond are, like a visit to the Gorges du Sierroz, must-sees.
All around the lake, around ten listed sites offer breathtaking panoramic views over Lac du Bourget.
You will enjoy the pure fresh air at the top of the surrounding mountains, which are easy to reach. The Savoie Grand Revard plateau can be explored on foot or by bike in summer, and by cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or dog sledding in winter. A renowned Nordic ski area, it is also one of the oldest alpine ski resorts in France, ideal for learning to ski and for beginners.
Do you like contemplating the earth from the sky? The airspace is also a popular playground. Paragliding, of course, to discover exceptional panoramas. And if you love thrills, take the plunge and freefall on a skydive over Lac du Bourget!
If you enjoy thrills, in a completely different vein, dive into the world of gaming at the Casino Grand Cercle, one of the most beautiful in France.

Do you love the outdoors and travel by motorbike or want to get around by bike? The Grand Hôtel du Parc, located right in the city centre, is a biker stopover in Savoie thanks to its secure garage spaces. For cyclists of all levels, there are many cycle paths in the surrounding area. A suitable boat even provides access to a boat-and-bike route linking Aix-les-Bains and Chautagne. By bike or motorbike, the mountain passes are renowned and are featured every year in the Tour de France. Outing themes are varied: rides through vineyards, a tour of the lake, viewpoints, remarkable sites… intense experiences in a nearby destination.

Air and earth… two complementary elements.
Unique and exclusive in the region, you can play with a 200 km/h airflow indoors at Windalps, which offers the same sensations as freefall!
Natural vertigo: several via ferrata sites of varying difficulty levels dot the region. Climbing is widely practised. The treetop adventure courses at Revard, for all levels, let you flirt with the treetops while discovering the magnificent surrounding peaks.

Dinner at the LEO-PAUL restaurant, or in a typical restaurant, or even a Michelin-starred one… perhaps up on the heights with a beautiful view of the lake… In the evening, a night out at the Casino Grand Cercle, a historic witness to the splendour of the spa town, then go and see a show in the magnificent historic Italian-style theatre. And end the evening over a drink, perhaps in the cosy world of M. CHARLES.
